DHL, Westwing Expand Sustainable Last-Mile Delivery with GoGreen Plus

DHL and Westwing advance sustainable last-mile delivery in Germany with GoGreen Plus, paper packaging, PUDO points, and faster, lower-emission logistics.

DHL, Westwing Expand Sustainable Last-Mile Delivery with GoGreen Plus

DHL Group and home-living retailer Westwing expanded their partnership in February 2026 to provide more sustainable and faster last-mile deliveries across Germany using DHL's GoGreen Plus service. Westwing shipments fulfilled by DHL now use only paper-based packaging, with emissions actively reduced via "book & claim" carbon insetting. DHL's Post & Parcel Germany division manages a larger share of Westwing's parcel volumes, supported by investments in electric vehicles, sustainable fuels, and renewable energy.

Background

GoGreen Plus is DHL's advanced sustainable shipping solution designed to reduce transport-related greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through carbon insetting rather than offsets. The service uses a "book & claim" system, enabling customers to access the environmental benefits of sustainable fuels, even if shipments are not physically transported using those fuels.

Westwing named DHL its premium delivery partner in Germany, aligning with its premiumization and sustainability initiatives. DHL's investment in a new International Logistics Center near Westwing's European Logistics Center in Poland supports faster sorting and distribution. German delivery times are now as short as two days.

Details

All DHL-fulfilled Westwing shipments now use exclusively paper-based packaging, reducing plastic usage. GoGreen Plus targets GHG reductions within logistics through investments in electric vehicles, sustainable fuels, and renewable energy.

The "book & claim" approach enables Westwing to benefit from emission reductions without needing to use sustainable assets directly. The partnership also expanded Westwing's flexible delivery options through DHL's PUDO (Pick-Up / Drop-Off) network, with drop-off and locker points for permanent assortments. Full rollout for non-permanent assortments is planned for later in 2026.

DHL's International Logistics Center, located two kilometers from Westwing's European Logistics Center in Robakowo, Poland, streamlines operations and enables select orders to reach German customers in as little as two days. DHL is processing a higher share of Westwing's parcel volumes.

Outlook

DHL and Westwing will expand the PUDO service to non-permanent assortments during 2026, increasing the availability of flexible, lower-emission delivery options. As consumer demand for sustainable practices rises, this initiative may drive broader adoption of insetting and sustainable packaging in German and European e-commerce logistics.
